Alexander Schubert attends ICANN meetings on regular basis since mid 2004. In mid 2005 he co-founded the dotBERLIN Gmbh&Co.KG in Berlin which successfully applied for ".berlin" in the first new gTLD round in 2012 (see for example www.schubert.berlin). In mid 2009 he founded the San Francisco based dotGAY, LLC which applied for the gTLD ".gay" in the first new gTLD round in 2012 (the application is not yet approved by ICANN due to special circumstances). In October 2016 he founded the dotUSA Management, LLC in the United States; the management entity of the dotUSA, Inc.: A public benefit corporation that will apply for ".usa" in the next gTLD round (the same round in which we will apply for the proposed 10 to 15 gTLD portfolio).
Since over a year Alexander participates in all relevant new gTLD policy development process groups at ICANN - the team of experts that is currently creating the rules for the application window for the new gTLD round. He is member at the RySG (Registry Stakeholders Group) at the gNSO (Generic Names Support Organization, ICANN). He is also member of the "next application round working group" at gNSO and member at two of it's sub-track working groups.
Alexander is a domain industry veteran since 1997, a domain investor and acquisition specialist. He participates in domain industry events like "Namescon" in Las Vegas regularly.

Alexander was born in Berlin in 1965, has a masters degree in aviation & space engineering from the Technical University of Berlin, was raised in Berlin and lives since 7 years in Riga, Latvia: A small northern European EU member state. His hobbies are gym, mountain biking and photography.
Over time we will add other team members. Once the first gTLDs are approved by ICANN a management team will be established.
