Hundreds of City of StPete related domains like www.visit.stpete, www.downtown.stpete, www.pier.stpete, www.police.stpete, www.firerescue.stpete, www.water.stpete, www.electricity.stpete, www.gas.stpete, www.mayor.stpete, www.taxes.stpete will go online at day one and be routed by dotSTPETE to the relevant, existing city websites; enabling the city to use them immediately; e.g. “police.stpete” on police cruisers (instead police.stpete.org now).
Through chambers, business associations & organizations StPete based businesses will be eligible to secure their business name based ‘.stpete’ domain for 3 years for free; example being www.SeaSalt.stpete (instead www.seasaltstpete.com) for the famous restaurant, or www.SunDial.stpete (instead www.sundialstpete.com) for the mall: in many cases this simply means “dropping” the .com at the end of the existing URL; “.stpete” becomes the “new .com for StPete”.
The aim is making ‘.stpete’ the “New .com for StPete”: trusted, broadly recognized and used by the city, businesses and the StPeteian Internet User.
